For Filipinos working or living abroad, financing a home back in the Philippines just got a new avenue, with a fresh partnership aimed squarely at overseas buyers and their housing loan options.
Pag-IBIG, Robinsons Land team up
Pag-IBIG Fund and Robinsons Land signed an agreement on October 5 in Pasig City that lets qualified Pag-IBIG members purchase RLC Residences properties, including ready-for-occupancy units, through Pag-IBIG Housing Loans with special pricing and added buyer perks. The deal builds on Pag-IBIG's recent move to raise its maximum housing loan to PHP10 million, with promotional rates of 4.5 percent yearly for loans up to PHP4.9 million and 5.75 percent for amounts up to PHP10 million. Since OFWs represent a significant portion of Pag-IBIG's housing loan borrowers, this matters doubly for them: applications can be filed remotely via Virtual Pag-IBIG using a Special Power of Attorney, meaning members abroad can pursue this RLC tie-in without needing to fly home to process paperwork. According to Tribune, the partnership is designed to expand accessible financing for middle-income earners, a group that includes many overseas Filipino workers.
