For Filipinos abroad weighing a home purchase back home, this week's news centers on Pag-IBIG Fund's expanding roster of developer partners, which could mean more ready-for-occupancy choices and smoother financing paths for members buying remotely.

Pag-IBIG partners with Robinsons Land to expand affordable housing options

Pag-IBIG Fund has signed a partnership with Robinsons Land Corporation, bringing the developer into President Marcos Jr.'s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program. The October 5 agreement in Pasig City gives qualified Pag-IBIG members access to participating Robinsons Land properties, including ready-for-occupancy units, along with preferential pricing and buyer incentives. The deal also covers housing fairs, member briefings, online promotions and loan counseling, though loan approval still depends on Pag-IBIG's own evaluation. For OFW members hoping to buy a finished unit without waiting out a construction timeline, this adds a notable option to the list. According to The Filipino Times, the partnership is meant to make homeownership more accessible for Filipino workers.

More top developers to join Expanded 4PH housing program

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling says two more major developers are set to formalize their participation in the 4PH program through separate agreements with Pag-IBIG Fund within the week, a sign he describes as growing private sector confidence in the initiative. Five developers have already signed on: Megawide Construction Corp., Ayala Land's Amaia and Avida brands, SM Development Corp., Filinvest Land Inc. and Robinsons Land Corp. For Pag-IBIG members overseas, a broadening list of participating developers means a wider pool of projects to consider when financing a purchase from abroad. According to Tribune, officials view the expanding roster as a potential game-changer for the housing program.
